Overview of the role
Data Protection Engineer is responsible for design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the Data Protection Platforms and Implementing best practices. Accountable for data protection of systems hosted in Cloud & On-Premises and responsible for securing critical data as per the organization data protection policy.

Candidate is expected to provide domain expertise and collaborate with other stakeholders to achieve common goals and deliverables.

What you will do
Ensure organization data is adequately protected, and recoverable at any point of time.
Installation, Configuration and Administration of Data Protection Platform (NetBackup)
Ensure high availability of the Data protection platform (On-Premises & Cloud)
Conduct periodic recovery test, to validate the effectiveness of backup and recovery process.
Periodic review of backup requirements with application owners.
Maintain accurate documentation of data protection platform including architecture, policies, and configuration.
Continuously monitor the Data Protection Platform capability, innovations/improvements, and propose adequate optimizations, modernizations, and enhancements.
Ensure all the tape media are vaulted securely and readily available, if required for data restoration

Required skills to be successful
4 years of working experience on managing Veritas NetBackup solution in a large organization.
Working Experience in Managing Veeam Data Platform
Strong Understanding of Azure Cloud Technology

About the team
The role will report to the Manager – Cloud Operations & Delivery and will be based in Dubai Festival City.

What equips you for the role
A degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Certification in Windows Servers, Azure Cloud Technologies & Virtualization
Thorough with ITIL Process (Incident, Service Request and Change Management)
At least 4 years of experience in managing Data Protection platform (Veritas NetBackup) in a large organization
