Overview of the role:
To effectively manage the design process and design consultants by overseeing and making successful the entire project from pre-concept design stage through final design and for construction documentation (including selection of ID Consultants).

What you will do:
Responsible for:
Manage the design and development process from inception to completion with all involved stakeholders, focusing on quality, design efficiency, value and cost optimisation, and time delivery.
Oversee design process during its all phases, executes milestone deliverables, and manages budget & schedules.
Ensure vision and quality of project are maintained, and that the project is meeting all requirements as per approved business plan.
Prepare design studies, presentations, and monthly technical reports for management update.
Manage securing of all entitlements, approvals and permits as well as negotiating agreements with all required consultants & sub-consultants.
Assist in site study with design options for feasibility studies. This shall include conduct site investigations, planning parameters, authority requirements and cost estimates.
Work with internal parties to come up with Project Brief for consultants to base upon for their design works.
Conduct regular design and coordination meetings with consultants and internal parties. This shall include preparation of Minutes of Meetings.
Liaise with consultants and internal parties for submission and obtain timely approvals from relevant authorities
Closely monitor and manage consultants & contractors and evaluate their project performance under the awarded projects portfolio.
Ensuring the design process adheres to current legislation, standards, and codes of practice where appropriate
Manage multiple projects within the programme through interaction with Architects, Engineers, and Specialist Consultants, from project conception to hand-over.
Oversee the design process to ensure compliance with contract codes and Client’s standards and guidelines by working with design professionals and various stakeholders
Provide all consultants with clear and consistent direction with regard to goals and objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each element of the programme.
Ensure that all steps within the project are documented and that the documentation are in compliance with the set standards.
Review design changes submitted to ensure project remains within budget
Aiming to keep financial cost and risk as low as possible and to eliminate health and safety risks
Performs other duties as assigned

Job Context:
This position is directly related to our overall business plan and the planned procurement of design consultancy services for the development of individual building projects. The roll-out programme for our projects is defined by our 5–year plan, which can be subject to change when our business plan is impacted by external factors and market forces beyond our immediate control.

Required skills to be successful:
Job-specific skills:
Prequalification of consultants.
Definition of design scope clauses, deliverables, etc., completeness and absence of any ‘gaps’.
Coordination with consultants – clarity and accuracy of communicating AFGRE’s requirements.
Review of design packages.
Identification of cost/ time/ quality implication of any design change and recommendation.

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Degree in Interior Design

Minimum Experience:
10 to 15 years hands-on experience in Design, design management and project delivery.
Experience working on high end and large-scale projects in the hospitality, mixed use, and retail spaces.
