Job purpose:
The Sales Manager will be charged with securing sponsorship and exhibition revenues for a specific event or several events simultaneously. You will be responsible for the execution of B2B and B2G sponsorship and exhibition sales campaigns of your assigned event and accounts. The ideal candidate will be both analytical and creative, in addition to having the ability to successfully deliver against multiple projects throughout the year – efficiently and effectively following a plan to meeting targets and ensure a great customer experience.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for retention and growth of key accounts as well as the generation of revenue from new business. This role will have to close small to medium to high-value deals across the energy industry value chain, from small to medium enterprise clients to large, private and semi-government companies.

Key accountabilities:
Managing a portfolio of accounts with five and six figure contract value
Cultivate strong relationships with a cross-section of stakeholders with a consultative approach
Achieving and exceeding agreed show and personal revenue and profit targets
Undertaking research to understand the market objectives, aims and ambitions of your client base
To work closely with and within each business to identify its aims, objectives and requirements
Tailor opportunities available, creating strong partnership propositions
To identify new sales opportunities and develop them into long-term relationships
Work closely with other departments, content, marketing, and to operate as one team.
Attend events and liaising with exhibitor and sponsor clients onsite to ensure that their contract is fulfilled and all their concerns and needs are addressed.
Keep up to date via a wide range of material including various industry publications relevant to the topic areas and audiences of assigned conferences for developments and trends in the industry.

Job context:
We are looking for an experienced and influential hunter individual with excellent working relationships within both the energy and event organisation sectors.

Qualifications and experience:
What we look for in the ideal candidate – You will
• Have excellent telephones sales manner with consistently high call rates.
• Have 4 to 5 years’ experience in B2B conference sponsorship and exhibition sales, ideally in the B2B and energy and/or government sectors.
• Be a serial networker and social media savvy.
• Have technical experience with contract management and proposal writing.
• Have experience in the use of databases and CRM usage (preferably Salesforce)
• Be able to cross and up sell opportunities and products.
• Focus on the customer needs AND seek win/win agreements.
• This role is an excellent spring-board into more senior sales roles and management positions.
• Excellent verbal and written English – other languages (especially Arabic) will be an advantage.
