Senior Full Stack Web Developer – AVP (hybrid)

Finance technology is responsible for Citi’s strategic accounting and finance software, supporting our in-house finance clients across the bank. Finance technology is hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer to build the next generation of Citi’s Product Control software. You will be adept at using the latest technologies across the stack, such as Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, Redis, Node, TypeScript and React and will lead team in reimagining the workflows, APIs, user interactions to deliver a best-in-class experience.

You will have great analytical skills; you will care about the “why”. You will engage with stakeholders and our users to understand their business goals and pain points. As a team we will collaborate to design the solutions, the team will look to you with your experience across the stack to drive these technical discussions.

You will care about the craft of code, you will sweat the details so that it’s efficient, elegant and follows best practices. You will have a small but talented multi-discipline team, you will understand agile and scaled agile working cooperatively with partner teams.

You will be passionate about technologies and an expert in multiple areas of development. You are continually learning and refining your craft; you have an appetite for solving problems and leveraging new technologies. As a senior developer you will set the example for others to follow and will mentor colleague on patterns, best practices and techniques.

As a senior developer with an in-depth knowledge of web technologies, design patterns and software architectures, you will take a hands-on role in redeveloping the web tier and supporting backend.

Responsibilities:
Work with a team of software engineers, running agile process for the team including scrums, planning, retrospectives
Work hands-on architecting, designing, and engineering best-in-class solutions
collaborate with team to deliver Automated UI testing solution
Be comfortable introducing new technologies and new ideas as required
Work effectively as part of a large global team
Ensure process compliance
Effectively communicate development progress to clients, technology leaders and application managers
Ensure Citi and industry best practices are adhered to

Technical Expertise:
You have deep knowledge of one or more server-side technologies such as Java or Node.
You will have significant experience using frontend web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS.
A solid understanding of one or more JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular – strong Angular experience advantageous.
You have very high development standards, especially for code quality and code reviews
You deliver software with thorough and appropriate test coverage
Write effective end-to-end test (Cypress preferable) and automated UI tests (Puppeteer preferable)
You have worked with NoSQL databases. Experience of Redis preferable.
You have worked with containers and Docker. Experience of Kubernetes or OpenShift preferable.
Must be comfortable working from the command line, using git
You are experienced in configuring and tuning the build tools, such as Gradle, Maven, Webpack, etc.

Experience:
Proven experience of building large and complex single page applications
You are an adaptable, resourceful, well organised team player with a strong work ethic.
Experience in a fast-paced, agile project environment with small, focused teams delivering product regularly.
You are familiar with CICD and preferably setup your own pipelines.
You are familiar with cloud computing concepts and devops tools (e.g. Docker, Openshift).
You have delivered great user interfaces that are highly useable and aesthetically pleasing.
