We are looking for an Assets and Logistics Supervisor to join an international oil & gas company in Qatar. The potential applicant will report to Fire Engineering & Prevention Lead. You must have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 10 years working experience. You are Required to have knowledge and experience in a wide variety of appliances and equipment used in Fire Operations

Principal Accountabilities

  • Integrity Assurance: Carry out technical reviews during procurement process and inspect and verify that all appliances, equipment and materials supplied are in conformity with standards and codes. Participate in all material specifications activities to ensure data availability, cataloguing, standardization and suitability.
  • Management of Change: Initiate replacement of appliances and equipment based upon established life cycle strategies. Coordinate all Management of Change activities in consultation with Fire Chiefs and Station Commanders.
  • Maintenance Planning: Coordinate with Maintenance Planning section to establish monthly and three-monthly schedules for maintenance of appliances and equipment maintenance and ensure that these meet fire response operational requirements.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Release appliances and equipment for maintenance in coordination with Station Commanders. Follow up with maintenance service providers, resolve all issues and provide timely feedback to Station Commanders.
  • Appliances and Materials Deployment: Periodically review and ensure that every Fire Station has the required minimum quantities and types of appliances, equipment and materials. Coordinate with Station Commanders and Fire Chiefs to redeploy resources as required both temporarily and permanently.
  • Testing and Calibration: Schedule all testing and calibration of appliances and equipment as required by established standards and procedures. Follow up with parties undertaking the testing and calibration and ensure these are competed timely. Initiate the approval/rejection of Testing and Calibration certification. Ensure all appliances and equipment in operation have valid certifications at all times.
  • Procurement: Raise purchase orders, materials reservations and electronic Stock Proposal Forms for the procurement of appliances, equipment and materials. Follow up with Materials Department to expedite supply and update Station Commanders regularly. Attend factory and systems acceptance tests.
  • Contract Management: Coordinate with maintenance division in the preparation of scope of works for services for the appointment of contractors. Participate in technical evaluation of tenders.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and control the inventory of all equipment and materials deployed in fire operations. Analyse and update the SCAD (Stock Creation, Amendments & Deletion) system for spares and consumables based on the consumption history. Ensure adequate stocks are available at all times and maintain records including traceability. Initiate and follow the write-off process of all obsolete Fire Appliances, Equipment and Materials.
  • Incident Response: Support the fire operations teams during incident response by coordinating the deployment of additional equipment and material as required including mobilizing these from other cities, Asset Operators and QCD.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an internationally recognised institution.
  • At least 10 years working experience with at least 5 years in planning, maintenance of appliances, equipment and materials used in Fire Operations.
  • Able to work independently with effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Experience on condition monitoring and failure analysis techniques desirable.
