Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Laundry Supervisor or delegate and within the limits of established TRYP Hotel policies and procedures, responsible for sorting and washing and Pressing hotel and guest laundry and linen in a timely manner, avoiding idling of machines. Promotes the desired work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Washing process

• Sorts hotel and guest linen/uniforms for washing.
• Ensures timely loading and unloading of machines.
• Ensures timely addition of chemicals in proper quantity.
• Maintains proper temperature, pressure and water level.
• Ensures machines and areas are kept clean and tidy at all time.
• Ensures all stains are removed, testing the chemicals before applying on the fabric, else inform the laundry supervisor.
• Attends all staff training meetings as when directed by the superiors.
• Reports health or safety hazards to the Laundry Supervisor.

Pressing Process

• Sorts hotel and guest linen / uniform for pressing.
• Ensures proper temperature and pressure required as per the texture of the textile.
• Ensures timely pressing of all items.
• Ensures machines and areas are kept in proper working order.
• Ensures all garments being pressed are in proper condition, else inform the supervisor, for suitable action to be taken.
• Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy all the time.
• Ensures broken zippers, missing buttons are replaced by tailor.
• Ensures mending is done if necessary.
• Attends all staff training meetings as when directed by the superiors
• Reports health or safety hazards to the Laundry Manager
• Completes all other duties assigned by superiors.
• Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.

Desired Skill & Expertise:

• 1-year experience in a similar role.
• Housekeeping background experience is an advantage.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Knowledgeable in Fabrics, Laundry Machinery, Laundry Chemicals.
