When you use the web version, you are relying on essential micro-services that drive authentication, entitlements, analytics, and much more. This opportunity will be to join the team responsible for building out additional web services as well as modernizing and maintaining existing systems in the future.

These systems are micro-services that provide reliable, scalable software that is accessed worldwide. We’re looking for someone to join the team who is highly skilled, motivated, collaborative — and pretty low-key about it all. You should already have some experience writing scalable web applications and have a ‘quality-first’ mindset, and you’re excited to roll up your sleeves for the next big challenge. The position is either remote or based in our Westminster, CO office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop server-side application code for various SketchUp micro-services.
  • Configure, optimize, deploy various back-end technologies (database, AWS Lambda, etc.).
  • Monitor and, in the event of failure, diagnose and restore web application services.
  • Work with QA to develop high quality code and robust test automation.
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience developing Web applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Web standards and protocols including HTTP and REST.
  • Server-side languages such as Typescript.
  • Experience using Node.js.
  • Familiarity with common commercial software development best practices.
  • A test-driven development mentality.

Other Preferred Skills (but not required):

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience working with server-side technologies like Java, Memcached, JaxRS.
  • Experience with Postman API testing.
