Manages the Crew pairings team and is primarily responsible for the delivery of the monthly Crew Pairings optimization and publication, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to company standards. Responsible for achieving optimal use of pairings to cover flight schedules with consideration towards Crew utilization, cost efficiency and operational robustness.
Ensure pairings processes is coordinated with all key stakeholders
Ensure timely delivery of Crew Pairings by regularly monitoring the optimization process.
Liaise with Crew Rostering teams for subsequent roster targets and issues.
Manage pairing optimizer to maximize crew utilization in order to produce optimum cost to the business.
Oversee the analysis of commercial/ operational changes on tactical Crew Pairings to understand cost/ net impact.
Analyze various pairing scenarios and determine the most sustainable solution within given parameters for the planning period.
Review the pairings solutions planned versus actual and map trends to develop more robust planning & forecasting.
Without a Degree:
High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 7 years of job-related experience.
With a Degree:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience
Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in crew resources related role
Minimum 03 years of relevant work experience in Crew Resources related role
Background in statistics and computer applications
Previous airline experience
Previous experience in pairing optimization
Previous experience in tracking systems
Knowledge of crew resource planning and optimization systems.
Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements (Flight Time Limitations).
Ability to work under pressure, perform independently and work well with team members
Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective in a multicultural setting
Proficient in English communication (written and spoken) and facilitation/presentation skills
Strong attention to details, organization and time management skills
Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
Understanding of Crew Resources and Crew supply chain
Understanding of Manpower planning concepts and strategies
Grasp of commercial impacts and financial management and budgetary work
