Health and Safety Duty Officer Job – Qatar Aircraft Catering Company Doha

As a Health & Safety Officer, you would be responsible for monitoring QACC activities at both airside and landside facilities. You would also need to ensure that all employees, visitors, external suppliers and operators implement and adhere to QACC and QR Group Safety Standards and Procedures in compliance to Safety Management System (SMS)

To achieve success in this role you will need to:
Ensure full compliance with all aviation safety regulations, standards and procedures; SMS practices and OHS Manual and Policy as published by QACC, QR Group and regulatory agencies
Plans and execute health and safety inspections and surveys, and conducts risk assessments in conjunction with business functions as necessary.
Supports in the identification of hazards in the workplace, and develops control mechanisms (As Low as Reasonably Practicable – ALARP).
Develops Tool-Box Talks (TBTs) topics and content on a monthly and ad hoc basis, and evaluates periodically the effectiveness in implementation.
Inspects regularly all fire equipment with General Maintenance team. Conducts fire safety inspections and plans emergency exercises to ensure compliance and corrective action plans as per NFPA and QCD fire and life safety requirements, as well as HIA fire and life safety standards.
Responds to emergency scenarios and takes over the role as Chief Fire Warden
Prepares daily activity reports, including accident/incident, near-misses, fault/deficiently occurrences, and submits in the QR Group Safety Management Portal (AQD) when necessary.

Qualifications
You should have a bachelors degree with at least 4+ years of job-related experience. It is preferred you have a local or international certificate / diploma in Health & Safety Management or Fire Engineering Technology.

Essential
Hands on experience and working knowledge of MS Office applications
Must have experience in general safety and security operations requirements, especially in a large facility and/or at an airport environment
Must have a basic understanding of airline operations and their safety and security requirements

Preferred
Must know how to use a CCTV and its related applications
Must understand security investigations, reporting procedures & chemical hazards
Must have knowledge to manage a control and command center
