Finance Assistant Job – South Gloucestershire Council Bristol

How you’ll make a difference
As a Finance Assistant you will make a difference by providing comprehensive financial and data processing services to the finance team who provide a range of strategic advice and operational financial support services to Council departments.
What will you be doing?
You’ll maintain and update information systems and databases to ensure that service transactions are completed accurately.
You will provide advice and respond to queries from customers, contacts, external organisations and colleagues ensuring that they receive appropriate guidance about policies, procedures and processes whilst ensuring effective working relationships are maintained.
You’ll be responsible for a varied range of administrative tasks and will work on projects. Ensuring written reports are compiled, support is provided, and records are accurate which will help to inform decision making. This will involve carrying out research, collating data, presenting information and accurately recording budgets.

What we need from you
You will have relevant knowledge and experience of working in an organisation that delivers a range of financial and data processing services, including paying and raising invoices and using electronic systems
You will have the ability to analyse and evaluate standard information from a range of sources in order to inform judgements and make decisions.
Good interpersonal skills are essential as you will need to communicate with a diverse range of people.
You will have a good understanding and experience in the use of IT within a Finance setting.
