Responsibilities
Performs office duties such as dictation, typing, filing and telephone answering for the Engineering Department.
Assists guests’ and departments’ requests for maintenance from the Engineering Department and route the requests.
Assists in planning and implementing procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient operation of the Engineering Department.
Handles the primary research and follow-up necessary on the purchasing of equipment, replacement parts and repairs. This includes contacting vendors for best prices, writing purchase orders, receiving goods and completing projects.
Responds properly to all emergency conditions or safety situations such as fires, power failures, leaks, floods, etc.
Reports any damages observed within the hotel and surrounding area, whether it is guestroom, public areas or any employee housing units through the Engineering reporting systems in place. Reporting to be done as soon as possible or within one hour of discovery.

Requirements
Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
High degree of initiative, motivation and excellent organizational skills.
High school graduate or equivalent required. Technical education is a plus.
Must be proficient in computer skills, such as MS Office. Hot SOS, Birchstreet knowledge is desirable.
Must possess excellent organizational skills.
