BMS Technician Job - Hilton Doha

An BMS Technician will support the Engineering Team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations such that safety, security, conversation, and compliance are ensured at the highest levels.

What will I be doing?
As BMS Technician, you will support the Engineering Team to ensure that engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including general property maintenance energy conservation, are working properly and to standard. You are also responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards. Specifically, an Engineer will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Analyze reasons of failure of plants and provides specific diagnostic, problem analysis and specify the necessary remedial actions for Supervisor’s approval.
  • Use the historical logged data of various plants to review the system and propose improvements in order to enhance the system efficiency and/ or reduce the operation cost as well as improve the services provided to customer
  • Program the BMS and PPM system and other plants (e.g. standby power generator, diesel driven firefighting pump, fire alarm system, etc) for automatic periodic testing.
  • To respond immediately to the guest complaints
  • Identify, locate and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings in case of emergency.
  • Follow all job instructions given by Shift Engineer or other Senior Staffs
  • Report any serious maintenance problem or safety related issues to Shift Engineer immediately.
  • Fallow duty schedule/Split duty and carry out any other assignment given by Chief engineer as business demand.
  • To verify building area temperatures and adjust as necessary and record on the Duty log sheet.
  • Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Follow up Company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment. Attend all departmental trainings and other training program.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to the shift in charge.
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and use correct lifting procedures as necessary to avoid injury. Follow hazardous Material management program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals etc. using material safety data sheets. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to shift in charge. Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines. Complete appropriate Fire and safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
  • Emergencies – to be available for any emergencies and act in a professional manner to protect our Guest, Staffs and preserve the Hotel Property and its system. Follow Hotel Crises plan.
  • To learn and carry out fire brigade duties when assigned.
  • Address guest’s service needs in a professional, positive and timely manner. Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using guest’s name if possible.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relations with other employees and departments. Any job related complaints or grievances to be handled promptly with your Shift Engineer or Chief Engineer.
  • To complete the personal daily job record book accurately, and keep ready for inspection.
  • To fully comprehend the building automation system operation, alarm and functionality.
  • To display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment energy conservation and/or general building.
  • To Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g, plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Follow clean as you go policy. Keep all his working areas neat and tidy. Store all his tools and materials in a safe and secure place. While working in the Guest and public areas, special attention in required to protect surrounding areas for any damage and inconvenience to the guests. During the site work do not leave any materials and tools unattended.
  • To perform engineering-related inventory duties if required.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Perform day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise
  • Execute the preventative maintenance schedule and ensure all equipment and designated areas are maintained to the required standard
  • Assist in the implementation of energy conservation program
  • Recommend maintenance system improvements and energy savings
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition
  • Keep your technical training knowledge and skills up to date

  • Experience in the Maintenance Department of a large hotel, hospital, ship, and/or restaurant complex or similar
  • Strong work ethic
  • A passion for delivering great customer service
  • Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes
